Here we propose to mediate tunable e ective couplings via Andreev bound states in a semiconductor-superconductor nanowire. We show explicitly how the coupling strengths depend on the physical parameters of the Andreev bound states, e.g., chemical potential, induced Zeeman spin splitting and spin-orbit interaction. We report a theoretical investigation of the spin-polarized transport of relativistic electrons through a three-terminal graphene-based superconductor bipolar transistor with ferromagnetic leads. It is found that the magnetoresistance in such a system can be improved largely in comparison with that in the corresponding two-terminal structure due to the existence of the special crossed Andreev.

Andreev reflection (AR), named after the Russian physicist Alexander F. Andreev, is a type of particle scattering which occurs at interfaces between a superconductor (S) and a normal state material (N). It is a charge-transfer process by which normal current in N is converted to supercurrent in S. Each Andreev reflection transfers a charge 2e across the interface, avoiding the forbidden single. As an example of how such a modification of surface parameters can affect spin-polarized transport, we explore the effect of an enhancement of the surface magnetization and show that this can significantly improve agreement with experiment.
